The late fall concert of the second season of Macula musica will present pianist Juho Pohjonen with a demanding program by Ravel and Chopin, and Dos. Tuomas Lilius with an exciting lecture about the glymphatic system, the mechanism by which the brain renews itself during sleep.

Macula musica, the new concert lecture series by the University of Helsinki Clinic of Ophthalmology, will begin with a concert featuring a lecture by chief physician Jukka Moilanen and a recital by internationally acclaimed concert pianist Juho Pohjonen.

Lauri Ahokas is producing a concert lecture series for the University of Helsinki Faculty of Medicine, starting in 2021.
Macula musica features presentations of life sciences by top scientists and juxtaposes them with performances by leading classical musicians. The concert series has received a grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
